There are plenty of misconceptions and a lot of unknown information about cancer. What's something you wish people understood about the condition, or your personal experience living with it?
I agree. living with the life after cancer isn’t so easy either. You have to find a new you, especially if you’re on disability. I went from conquering the world to figuring out my day very quickly. chemo and radiation changed me completely. It killed the cancer but it killed parts of me as well. The fatigue is terrible . It’s a very hard transition.

The mental & emotional part of being diagnosed & living with cancer are just as important as the physical. Support groups & just the support & kindness of friends & family are #1. Do everything you can to be positive, be around positive people, read positive things, get in the sunshine. I've had two cancers. The first was in 2002. I immediately joined a support group. I knew 0 about cancer & was scared. The people, the facilitator were so amazing! I made friends I still have, I learned so much from the group. We became such close friends. We even went on a cruise! If you haven't joined a support group, I encourage you to do so! Good luck on your cancer journey. We all have a common interest. Hugs!

I wish others knew that inner fear that a cancer diagnosis causes. It effects your mind as much as it effects your body.

I would like to tell everyone that cancer doesn't just go away after treatment. Been battling cancer for six years. While there are no detectable cancer cells, still feeling sick.

Thank you for saying this! There is no going back to "before cancer!" I hope you have the support of those closest to you as you go through this never-ending journey. All the best, Kathy (Team member)
