Stomach Ailment Turns Out To Be Cancer

Approximately a year and a half ago, I developed a pain in my stomach and went to see the doctor. They took X-rays and determined I was loaded with gas. They gave me a prescription for gas. It was of no use.

Colon cancer, not gas

Eventually, after over 6 months, I had a colonoscopy and was diagnosed with cancer of the colon.

Surgery was performed after more tests, and a section of my colon was removed.

My doctor felt I did not have to undergo any other treatment, according to my diagnosis. They said that I should visit the hospital every 4 to 6 months to have tests done for any possible cancer recurrence.

Stressful and life-changing

This has been a very stressful life-change, and I keep looking for any possible after-effects. It's been a life-changing experience and something I, and sure many others, do not look forward to or expect to hear from their doctor that they have cancer.

It's been very stressful. Every day that I am free from cancer, I thank GOD and pray.
