Surgery Needed For My Cancer Recurrence
I was having bad back pain, and my doctor ordered an MRI. He told me that the cancer had spread to my lower spine.
I was so devastated! I actually had 2 tumors on my spine; one was in a disc, and the other was on the nerve sac down in my lower spine.
Surgery to remove the tumors
I had a 10-hour surgery in May; it was the biggest surgery he had done. The one tumor would not stop bleeding. I lost 3 liters of blood, and so the doctor had to transfuse 3 back into me. I never went to the recovery room; instead, I went straight to the ICU.
The doctor pretty much rebuilt my entire lower spine. I’m so grateful to God for working through him to help me! He never left me alone during the entire process!
I have finished 5 radiation treatments. I’m praying that it killed all of the cancer cells and that this is over for good, and never to return.

Grateful for my caregiver and my home
My poor husband was making two trips a day to see me and be with me. I was in Moriah and he was coming from Independence. I was so happy that I got to go home the day before my birthday!! I most definitely did not want to be in the hospital on my birthday!
Adapting to my new life with cancer
I’m learning to adapt to my new way of life. I couldn’t go back to work so I took early retirement and God has been so faithful and kind to provide for all our needs! I think that anyone who has or has had previous cancer would agree that it does change you. God bless you all!
